9/18/1972Government of India announces increase of minimum bonus to workers from 4\% to 8.33\%.
7/18/1980Second Experimental launch of Space Launch Vehicle -3 (SLV-3) by Indian made 35 kilogram Rohini satellite (RS-1) successfully placed in orbit. It was used for measuring in-flight performance of second experimental launch of SLV-3. The launch took from Sriharikota and India became the sixth nation to put a satellite into orbit.
6/3/1999Flight Lieutenant K. Nachiketa is handed over by the International Committee of the Red Cross to the Indian High Commissioner inside the High Commission premises.
8/5/1999Nisha Millet became the first Indian swimmer to receive the International Olympic Committee's Solidarity Scholarship, given to sportspersons with outstanding track record and possessing Olympic potential.

12/7/1995Indian National Satellite (INSAT-2C), third indigenous satellite in the INSAT-2 series, launched. This has additional capabilities such as mobile satellite service, business communication and television outreach beyond Indian boundaries. This is still in service. It was launched by Ariane launch vehicle at French Guyana.
