Sharjah, April 27 (IANS) An Indian couple from Kerala, who had been married for 35 years, died five days apart in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), their family said, adding that neither of the deaths were related to the novel coronavirus.

Sharjah resident Sophia Habeeb, 57, died on April 18 following a week's treatment at a Dubai hospital, Gulf News reported on Sunday.

Her husband A.R. Habeeb Rahman, 66, passed away at a Sharjah hospital on April 23.

One of the couple's three children said their mother had died of a heart attack and had tested negative for COVID-19 three times.

She added that their father "died inshock after our mother left us".
