Historical Event on 10/1/1953
The first new state in India since 1949, Andhra Pradesh, is established on purely linguistic basis and formally inaugurated. This state was created by sub-dividing state of India, Madras Province and this movement was started by Shriramulu for which he had to sacrifice his life.

12/23/1912	Rash Behari Ghosh and Sachin Sanyal threw a bomb at Viceroy Lord Hardinge II in Delhi. He had come to Delhi on an elephant for the initiation of the new capital. The Viceroy was injured in the bomb blast.

7/8/1918	Montagu - Chelmsford Report was published. This report was prepared to reform the legislature of India. This report was made by Edwin Montagu who was the Secretary of States for India and Lord Chelmsford, who was the Viceroy.
8/19/1996	Gujarat's expelled BJP leader Shankersingh Waghela forms a new party called 'Rashtriya Janata Party'.
7/10/1997	Malleswari earns India's first gold medal in Asian weightlifting championship in Beijing.
3/3/1943	Gandhi breaks his hunger strike after 21 days.
