Historical Event on 12/7/1995
Indian National Satellite (INSAT-2C), third indigenous satellite in the INSAT-2 series, launched. This has additional capabilities such as mobile satellite service, business communication and television outreach beyond Indian boundaries. This is still in service. It was launched by Ariane launch vehicle at French Guyana.

4/16/1853	The first Railway Train on Indian sub-continent ran over a streach of 21 miles i.e. 35 kms from Bombay to Thane. In the inauguration ceremony, 14 railway carriages carrying about 400 guests left Bori Bunder (presently C.S.T.) at 3.30 pm, amidst the loud applause of a vast multitude and to the salute of 21 guns.
8/14/1993	New governors for MP, Bihar, West Bengal & Tripura.
11/30/1999	The disinvestment panel headed by G. V. Ramakrishna demits office after the end of its three-year term.
11/27/1962	Britain agreed to supply arms to India.
